GfK Individual Panel

The GfK Individual Panel is a large sample that represents the population aged 10 and up living in the respective countries, and is ideal for quantitative and qualitative market research.

For example in Germany in 2011, 10,000 people represented the total population of 63.69 Million people.

The purchasing reports / surveys are directed at the selected person, who then report about their own behaviour, opinions, intentions, etc. Individual panels are particularly necessary where purchases are often carried out by someone other than by the head of the household, for example younger boys or men or men (for example cinema visits, DVD and CD purchases etc.). Only then is such good coverage of personal purchases obtainable.

The current majority of the panel participants write their purchasing habits in diaries / questionnaires which are sent to them by mail, and returned on a monthly basis. An increasing amount of the panels (in Germany it is currently about a quarter) are reported online in GfK-own survey/daily recording software (CPO Consumer Panel Online).
